Getting There
We found an incredible place by the ocean. We decided to keep it as a surprise but expect beautiful architecture, gardens full of life, and amazing ocean views
The venue is located in Cacela Velha, which is a small town next to Tavira. The best way to get around in the Algarve is by renting a car (there are many options at the airport). Our venue is a 45-minute drive from Faro Airport, a 2-hour drive from Seville Airport or a 3-hour drive from Lisbon Airport (see map)
The welcome drinks and the beach day will take place just next to the wedding venue
Where to Stay
We recommend staying between Tavira and Monte Gordo
We've put together a list of nice hotels in the region (see below). We will organise transportation on the day of the wedding (28th May) to/from the hotels where most people are staying
Alternatively, we recommend booking an Airbnb in the area

Once You're There
We’re excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you
We've put together a Google Maps with our tips to help you get around

O Tonel
Portuguese restaurant in the center of Tavira. Enjoy a nice grilled fish and a glass of vinho verde! Make sure to book in advance

Cafe Bar 22
Nice spot for drinks and tapas, we recommend going there at sunset to enjoy beautiful views on the Rio Gilão

Almas
Go there for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon. Make sure to order our favorite drink, the Nordes Gin & Tonic

Noélia e Jeronimo
Enjoy a nice lunch in this authentic Portuguese restaurant overlooking the Ria Formosa. This place is very famous in the region so make sure to book in advance! After lunch, take the boat to Praia de Cabanas for a relaxing afternoon at the beach

Casa Velha
Very local spot in Cacela Velha, fresh fish and seafood in a laidback atmosphere

Praia do Barril
This beach is one of the most beautiful in the region. It's famous for its Anchor Cemetery, which are there to celebrate the history of the beach as an old tuna fishing village. To access the beach, cross the bridge from Pedras d'el Rei and take the mini train from the mainland
